The Advisory Board member of the UNESCO Chair on Global Understanding for Sustainability and previously vice-president of The Club of Rome, Carlos Alvarez-Pereira has been appointed on the 9th of December as secretary General of The club of Rome. Carlos Alvarez-Pereira brings more than 30 years of experience in research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and business management. “Carlos is a strategic thinker with a wealth of knowledge and experience – specifically related to The Club of Rome, its work, and the external environment within which it operates. He will be a great asset to the team” states Paul Shrivastava, co-president of The Club of Rome.
Carlos is from its beginning an Advisory Board member of the UNESCO Chair and one of the driving forces behind The Jena Declaration, the current key project of the Chair. He contributed to the extension of the TJD network, especially with establishing the cooperation with #LearningPlanet – Learning for Sustainability Circle and related network. Carlos supported the events of the Chair as a regular keynote speaker at its most important conferences over the years. We are looking forward to a continuously fruitful cooperation for the years to come.
