Benno Werlen participated online as Guest of Honor at the closing ceremony of the “Its4u campaign: A symphony of billion voices For Cop 28”, a twelve days series organized by The Jena Declaration’s Project Partners “Rethinking Choices” and the “World Climate School” together with “East Africa Campuses and Colleges Green Network”, as well as the “Walnut Travel and Tours” and coordinated by TJD Signatory Sadaf Khalid from Pakistan.

The event included especially youth partners from 18 countries, and was covered by the international press, including the Voice of America. Besides congratulating all the award winners, the Guest of Honor took the opportunity to present The Jena Declaration by addressing its key principles as an alternative to the SGD’s and the COP conferences, as another pathway to global sustainability. In short, “as an invitation to make sustainable development happen at your own doorstep, to mobilize people around the planet and to enable fruitful outcomes of their engagement! Instead of blaming others for not doing enough of the right things, or doing the wrong ones, it calls for a personal involvement in and engagement for change, approaching all partners with cultural sensitivity and respect.”
